No class 19th September
Due to the funeral of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II we will not be training on Monday the 19th. Training will resume as normal after the 19th.

Thirtieth Anniversary

First Class Back at Yeo Moor
Our first night back in the school since November and we had an excellent class. We all know the drill by now, but still a big thank you to all the students for following the updated-guidelines and staying distanced as we trained.

Covid-19 UPDATE
We are pleased to announce that IF the Government Roadmap remains on course we will look to return to Yeo Moor School and 7.30 on Monday the 17th of May. Outdoor classes will continue in the meantime.

Covid-19 UPDATE
Sadly, due to North Somerset being rated as Tier 3 we will have to remain temporarily closed. We plan to return to Yeo Moor School in January providing North Somerset is downgraded to Tier 2 or 1.

November
Covid-19 UPDATE
Please note that in-line with Government guidance regarding Covid-19 sadly we have had to temporarily close the club through November. We plan to return to Yeo Moor School on the 7th of December.

September
First Class Back at Yeo Moor
Our first night back in the school since March and we had an excellent class. A big heart-felt thank you to the students and parents for following our guidelines and working together to maintain social-distancing and keeping each other safe. The floor had been marked out in preparation and we went through line drills, forms and a few basics, making sure everyone was 2 meters apart at all times. Well done everyone.

We are pleased to announce that we will be returning to Yeo Moor School and Monday nights from the 21st of September. Also this week will be the final free outdoor training session, however, it has been so enjoyable we will look at perhaps doing it again next summer.

Outdoor training
The twice-weekly free social-distanced outdoor training bubbles have been a great success. Thank you to all students and parents that attended and their perseverance though this unsettling time has resulted in some new grades being awarded as well.

With Covid-19 in mind we will be monitoring advice and all students/parents will be given plenty of notice if/when we need to close the club temporarily. This will also be posted to our Facebook page.

Mary Elton Primary School Talent Week
Two instructors took the whole of Year 2, 60 children, through an afternoon of various Tang Soo Do techniques as part of Mary Elton's Talent Week.

Edit Tang Soo Do first grading
The students of Clevedon Tang Soo Do's sister club took their first grading and all passed. Well done to the new Yellow Belts.

New Instructor
Once of the recent Black Belt grades has now received his Instructor's Licence. This is well deserved and will be a great help in allowing the Chief Instructor to spend more time with one-on one teaching.

Dan Grading

New Club Edit. Tang Soo Do
We have launched a new sister club, "Edit Tang Soo Do" for the employees of the Edit Agency in Bath. It developed from several taster martial art sessions during lunchtimes and with Edit's proactive and positive approach to staff well-being a full club was a natural progression.

This month the Chief Instructor was awarded his 6th Dan black belt, after practicing the art for over 25 years. Peter Edwards the President of WAKO GB visited the club and observed and evaluated teaching techniques and methods, before awarding the prestigious grade of 6th Dan. 25th Anniversary Party
This month we celebrated our 25th Anniversary. We invited one of the original founders down and some retired students also took part. Our summer grading was a little late this year. However, there was a very high level of proficiency from the yellow belts, who set themselves a great standard to move on to the next level. Congratulations to all who passed.

Everyone spent a long time working towards this one and the passes were well deserved.

Charity session

Two instructors from the club ran a martial arts session for the Ups and Downs South West charity, for children with Down’s Syndrome. Everyone enjoyed themselves and it was an extremely rewarding session.

Irish Kenpo Seminar

The Chief Instructor had the honour of being invited to a very high level Kenpo seminar given by Irish masters of the art. Grand Master Patrick Kennedy 10th Dan, Master John Birch 9th Dan, Associate Master Andy Fitzgerald 8th Dan and Associate Professor Jason O'Keeffe 6th Dan. It was an excellent learning opportunity and a revealing glimpse into the world of Kenpo. Some photos are in the gallery section.

Successful Dan grading

This month we held the highest ranking Dan grading so far. We saw three new First Dans, two new Third Dans and the Chief Instructor obtained his Fifth Dan. Congratulations to those that have taken the huge step to First Dan, and a very well done to those who moved further along the road towards mastery and beyond. Yeo Moor Primary School Summer Fete

We ended the year with a grading, which saw some white belts earn their yellow belts. It is always nice to see people take that first step on to the coloured belt ladder. Congratulations.

We now have a new second dan black belt. It took over two and a half years of hard work, but it has finally paid off. Congratulations.

Yeo Moor Primary School Summer Fete.

Join Up Join In.

We are a proud to be participating in North Somerset's Join Up Join in programme, giving children the opportunity to try new things.

March
Family Learning festival with Clevedon Extended Learning Services.
This event saw us teach 30 people, children and adults, who had no or very little experience in martial arts. Every one enjoyed themselves and we ended with the classic flying sidekick. Many thanks to the black belts who turned up on the day to help teach.
