25th Anniversary Party
This month we celebrated our 25th Anniversary. We invited one of the original founders down and some retired students also took part. We had a fun night and more details of the event can be found here or on the "25th Anniversary" button on the main navigation. This year marks our twenty-fith anniversary. Clevedon Tang Soo Do first opened in September 1992; and the Chief Instructor was the very first student.

Successful Gup Grading
Our summer grading was a little late this year. However, there was a very high level of proficiency from the yellow belts, who set themselves a great standard to move on to the next level. Congratulations to all who passed.

Christmas Grading

Everyone spent a long time working towards this one and the passes were well deserved.

Charity session

Two instructors from the club ran a martial arts session for the Ups and Downs South West charity, for children with Down’s Syndrome. Everyone enjoyed themselves and it was an extremely rewarding session.

GE Oil and Gas Health Ahead Day
The Chief Instructor recently did a martial arts taster for GE Oil and Gas' Corporate Health Ahead event promoting an active lifestyle. Everyone enjoyed some jump side kicks in their lunch break. Some photos are in the gallery.

Sport Array

The Chief Instructor recently attended an excellent half-day training session run by North Somerset Council’s Sport Array initiative. Sport Array is geared at making clubs more inclusive for disabled students.

The Chief Instructor had the honour of being invited back by Associate Master Andy Fitzgerald 8th Dan to this year's the Kenpo seminar given by Irish masters: Grand Master Patrick Kennedy 10th Dan and Master John Birch 9th Dan. Some photos are in the gallery section.

Twenty years of Tang Soo Do

This year marks our twentieth anniversary. Clevedon Tang Soo Do first opened its doors in September 1992; and the current Chief Instructor was the very first student.

Irish Kenpo Seminar

The Chief Instructor had the honour of being invited to a very high level Kenpo seminar given by Irish masters of the art. Grand Master Patrick Kennedy 10th Dan, Master John Birch 9th Dan, Associate Master Andy Fitzgerald 8th Dan and Associate Professor Jason O'Keeffe 6th Dan. It was an excellent learning opportunity and a revealing glimpse into the world of Kenpo. Some photos are in the gallery section.

Successful Dan grading

This month we held the highest ranking Dan grading so far. We saw three new First Dans, two new Third Dans and the Chief Instructor obtained his Fifth Dan. Congratulations to those that have taken the huge step to First Dan, and a very well done to those who moved further along the road towards mastery and beyond. There are some pictures in the Photo Gallery section.

Yeo Moor Primary School Summer Fete

We performed another demo, the rain stopped just in time and the sun came out. Thanks to Yeo Moor P.T.A, everyone who watched us, and a big thanks to the students who could participate in the demo with such short notice. A few photos have been added to the Photo Gallery section..

Successful Gup Grading

We ended the year with a grading, which saw some white belts earn their yellow belts. It is always nice to see people take that first step on to the coloured belt ladder. Congratulations.

Successful Dan grading

We now have a new second dan black belt. It took over two and a half years of hard work, but it has finally paid off. Congratulations.

Congratulations all. A good grading, which ranged from people taking their first grade to a seasoned red belt achieving 2nd gup.

Yeo Moor Primary School Summer Fete.

Our demo went really well. The sun was out and we all had a good time at the fate. Thanks to Yeo Moor P.T.A and to everyone who watched us, and of course a big thanks to all the students who came down to participate in the demo. A few photos have been added to the Photo Gallery section..

Join Up Join In.

We are a proud to be participating in North Somerset's Join Up Join in programme, giving children the opportunity to try new things.

Family Learning festival with Clevedon Extended Learning Services.
This event saw us teach 30 people, children and adults, who had no or very little experience in martial arts. Every one enjoyed themselves and we ended with the classic flying sidekick. Many thanks to the black belts who turned up on the day to help teach.
